Practice Manager

“What I like best about my job is helping the animals and helping pet owners get the highest quality of care for their pet.”

Joey was originally hired in 2001 as a Kennel Technician. With hard work and dedication he moved on to become tech manager and is now our hospital manager. When he is not busy helping out pets and their owners in the clinic, Joey enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Tiffany, two children, and their two dogs, Caddy and Eva. He also likes to swim, fish, and go for walks in the park.

Brandy Edmonds

Brandy was hired in June of 2016 to work as a receptionist in our clinic. Prior to coming to Beach Vet, she worked for three years as the Kennel Manager and Receptionist at a boarding and rescue facility. She received her A.S. from Columbus State and plans to attend St. Petersburg College for the Veterinary Technology program. Outside of work, Brandy likes to go to the beach, fish, shop, and spoil her dog, Tank, the Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

Haley Anne Hurd

Having earned her Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg College, you will recognize Haley as one of our friendly and professional Receptionists. She began her career in animal care in 2013 working in a doggy daycare. Haley moved to Bradenton in early 2016 from her hometown of St. Petersburg. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, spending time with family, fishing, and agility training her pit mix, Deacon.

Samantha Spears - Receptionist & Back-up Boarding Technician

Samantha was hired onto our team in December of 2013. In addition to manning the front desk, she also helps to care for boarded animals on the weekends. Born and raised in Bradenton, her family home was always filled with animals, inspiring her love for them today. Samantha enjoys spending her free time with family, boyfriend, and five animals. Her other hobbies include taking her three dogs to the beach and singing karaoke.

Chanene Wimmer

Chanene always knew she wanted to work with animals. Her mother, a pet groomer, instilled that love in her at a young age. Hired in July of 2014, she brings with her 13 years of experience working in the field. When not busy greeting our clients, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming, gardening – anything outdoors! And she does it all with her three friendly dogs by her side: Teva, Scruffy, and Mojo.

Beginning her career as a Kennel Tech, Heather brings with her four years of experience as an employee at Beach Vet. She especially loves the camaraderie she shares with her coworkers. Born and raised in Manatee County, Heather enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and boating. When not manning the front desk, you can find her spending time with her wonderful family that includes two dogs, Diesel and Pearl.

Meredith was hired to Beach Vet in 2015 as a Kennel Technician. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, she has since been promoted to Veterinary Technician. Meredith loves working with the amazing doctors and passionate technicians on staff. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the beach and going fishing. She has one dog, Hunter, and two cats, Bob and Marley.

Candice Nicole Leitenberger - Vet Tech

Growing up here in Bradenton with bunnies, chickens, dogs, and horses, Candice has always loved animals. And now she gets to work with them every day! As a veterinary technician, we count on her to provide our clients with the absolute best care. In her free time she loves trail riding with her horse or hanging at home with her two dogs.

Vincent Lysobey - Vet Tech

Starting as a Kennel Tech while still a high school student, Vincent brings over 25 years of experience to our clinic. A native of Connecticut, Vincent moved to the Bradenton area more than twenty years ago. He brings with him a passion for working out, fishing, and all things outdoors. He lives with his two children, ages 16 and 12, as well as his two dogs, Hurricane and Baby, and his two cats, Denzel and Bill Murray.

Megan McCrea - Certified Vet Tech

Starting her career as a Kennel Technician and Receptionist, Megan brings fours years of experience to the Beach Vet team. She currently works as a Certified Veterinary Technician and has an Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with friends and appreciating the beautiful beach scenery of our locale. She has two dogs, Scamp and Aria, and a cat named Ivey.

Sheree McClendon - Vet Tech

Born and raised in Bradenton, Sheree has known she wanted to work with animals since she was three years old. Hired in 2009, she brings 13 years of animal care experience to our team. Sheree is a pet parent to two dogs and one cat, and loves fishing, volleyball, and visiting the beach. In her spare time she is also a baby and pet sitter.

Jenna Grace Winchell - Certified Vet Tech

With a love of animals and a passion for barrel racing, Jenna brings with her five years of professional pet care experience. Born in Bradenton and boasting an A.S. in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College, Jenna and her husband Nick are the proud parents of four special animals: Dixie the Catahoula mix, Maggie the Chi-Poo, JR the Walker Hound, and Dinero the Quarter Horse.

As a Kennel Technician, Amy loves helping sick and injured animals get the care and attention they need. Prior to coming to work at Beach Veterinary Clinic, she was employed as a bather in a grooming salon. Born in Bradenton and raised in Sarasota, Amy is a native of our community. Outside of work, she likes to play pool, go swimming, and spend time with her three cats and fish.

Darian Kafer

Having worked as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic from 2011-2013, Darian has returned to her roots in animal care after a brief hiatus earning her degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida West. Her inevitable plan is to attend law school after working for a few years to save money. When not helping animals at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her three pit bulls and having fun with her friends.

A student at Manatee High School, Savannah has always known she wanted to work with animals. Having volunteered with the clinic since she was 11 years old, Savannah is a reliable member of our team. She loves taking care if the animals boarded at Beach Vet and in her spare time plays the flute in the Marching Canes. She also enjoys ballroom dancing at school.
